I had the inevitable, common issues with buying this from iTunes – in this case, specifically the tiny sleeve image and an almost complete lack of recording / personnel information, which Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds releases usually embrace. Listening to it away from my PC, I presumed it had been recorded sometime in 2008, but it wasn't evident whether Mick Harvey was performing with them or not. As to where in London this was recorded, I had no idea. As it happens, most of this is available on the iTunes store page (it was recorded at AIR Studios), but I stuck this in my Basket – sorry, Wish List – yonks ago and I'm hardly going to listen to it in front of my computer (I just don't, okay?).

Then there's something that happens occasionally with iTunes: the songs were misnamed. 'Moonland' is actually 'Lie Down Here (And Be My Girl)' and 'Lie Down Here (And Be My Girl)' is of course 'Moonland'. How difficult can it really be?

Gripes aside, these five tracks are essential purchases in the apparent absence of any other official audio evidence from the Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! tour. 'Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!' is more murky and dirge-like than any of the performances I've heard, and 'More News From Nowhere' (presented here in disappointingly abridged form) – still my favourite on the album – Is significantly more muscular and bass-heavy than on record. 'Lie Down Here (And Be My Girl)', a song on the album I never really enjoyed that much, seems to make more sense in a live setting, while 'Midnight Man' is the most urgent, old-school Cave song of the bunch.
